Liam Furniss
Description
Hello!
My name is Liam Furniss and I am a writer and journalist from South Africa currently based in London. I have recently graduated from the University of Oxford where I was studying a Masters in Literature and Arts. My research focused on the ways in which the South African environment and landscape impacted the British Colonial enterprise. While at Oxford I was also able to be published with the Oxford Climate Review or Anthroposphere Magazine.
I have always had a passion for the South African wildlife, conservation and development and have worked and lived within many NGO’s in infrastructure and capacity building roles. I once attempted to travel to all 21 South African National Parks in 6 weeks – only made it to 19 – and the protection of these environments is hugely important to me. Some more about me: I have won a Universities Rugby World Cup in Japan, I took three months off after my studies to climb volcanos in Central America and I am currently a bad photographer trying to get better.
