The proposed Campo Ma’an Conservancy would seek to strengthen the conservation landscape surrounding Campo Ma’an National Park in southern Cameroon, protecting a major tract of Central African rainforest while improving opportunities for neighbouring communities. The Conservancy could integrate forest conservation, wildlife protection, sustainable agriculture, community enterprise and responsible ecotourism within a coordinated land-use framework.
Its strategic value would lie in connecting the park’s exceptional biodiversity with a broader conservation economy capable of supporting local livelihoods and maintaining one of the Congo Basin’s important remaining forest landscapes.
