EDWARD SAIROWUA
Description
Born and raised in the Masai Mara region. Son of a nomadic pastoralist. Sent to school (as punishment!) and had to walk 20kms across the savannah daily as a little boy, encountering some perils along the way, but also encountering communities – villagers who took me in when there was danger and looked out for me. Edward says those experiences shaped him for life.
He was an avid student and became the 5th boy in his family to attend high school…and eventually got himself to guide school in Nairobi where he started to build a successful career. But instead he chose to return home, to apply his talents on behalf of his community and his place. He has become one of the most loved and catalytic community member of his generation and is a proud conservationist, a community philanthropist and proud ambassador of Rewilding Africa
