Chinko Conservancy

The Chinko Conservancy would build upon one of Central Africa’s most extraordinary wilderness landscapes, where vast areas of relatively intact habitat provide refuge for elephants, lions, antelope and other threatened wildlife. The opportunity is to develop a large-scale conservation economy that combines landscape protection, wildlife restoration, community engagement, ecological monitoring and carefully managed tourism.

Given the scale and remoteness of the landscape, Chinko could become a flagship example of how investment in wilderness protection and local livelihoods can help secure some of Africa’s last great intact ecosystems.
