The proposed Hluhluwe–iMfolozi Conservancy will create a large-scale community conservation and economic buffer around Hluhluwe–iMfolozi Park in KwaZulu-Natal, one of Africa’s most important and historically significant wildlife landscapes and the birthplace of the modern white-rhino conservation story.
Rewilding Africa CIC is working with Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife and other stakeholders to explore the planning, development and management of the conservancy that can connect fragmented landholdings, strengthen ecological corridors and create new conservation-led economic opportunities for neighbouring communities.
The long-term ambition is to establish a world-class destination in which wildlife, communities, tourism, conservation and nature-positive enterprise reinforce one another.
