The proposed Hwange Conservancy would create a wider conservation and community landscape around Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe’s flagship wildlife destination. By connecting surrounding communal, private and conservation land, the initiative could strengthen wildlife corridors, reduce human–wildlife conflict and create new opportunities for community-led conservation, sustainable tourism and nature-positive enterprise.
Its long-term ambition would be to transform the wider Hwange landscape into a resilient conservation economy in which local communities share directly in the value generated by one of Africa’s great elephant and wildlife destinations.
