Okavongo Delta Conservancy

The proposed Okavango Delta Conservancy would focus on strengthening the conservation and economic landscape surrounding the Okavango Delta, one of Africa’s most extraordinary freshwater ecosystems and a globally important wildlife destination. The concept would seek to integrate community land, conservation areas, tourism assets and wildlife corridors through coordinated land-use planning and sustainable economic development.

By placing communities at the centre of the conservation economy, the Conservancy could help protect the Delta’s ecological integrity while expanding opportunities for responsible tourism, conservation enterprise and long-term investment in this internationally significant wetland.
